SJA pathway note: For SJA’s USA degree-completion pathway, the receiving university reviews the learner’s Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications, transcripts and subject alignment before confirming advanced standing. Eligible business learners may receive up to 90 US credits towards the BBA/BSBA and complete the remaining 10 university units.

The term master’s top-up requires particular care because it can describe different progression arrangements.

It should not automatically be understood as a shortened master’s programme available to anyone who already holds a bachelor’s degree.

Some master’s top-up pathways are designed for learners who already hold specific postgraduate-level qualifications or recognised credits. They may then complete additional university study—sometimes including a research project or dissertation—to meet the requirements of a full master’s award.

If you already hold a bachelor’s degree, postgraduate study may be more appropriate.

If you hold eligible postgraduate-level qualifications or credits, a specific master’s top-up arrangement may be available depending on the university.
